UPDATED: Man arrested in shooting at University Place apartment complex

Local law enforcement officers have arrested a 23-year-old man suspected of shooting another man last month in University Place. Andre Newkirk had multiple warrants out for his arrest. Prosecutors have charged him with first-degree assault in connection with the shooting. He also had unrelated warrants on charges of second-degree child assault, second-degree identity theft and second-degree theft.
