2 Stars Not as good as free AVG anti virus and free Zone Alaram Internet Security
I have been using Zone Alarm Internet Security and AVG Anti Virus for 4 years and I was so happy. First time, I have bought this CA internet security bundle which comes with Internet Security, AntiVirus and Spyware.

Pros:

Installation is very smooth.

Cons:

While CA internet security is running, I have found the following issues

Firefox takes 100% CPU when CA firewall is running. I can’t shutdown gracefully and I had to shutdown forcefully by holding the power button.

Lots of ebay pages are not working properly from MyEbay page. While bidding, the firefox is trying to download the xxx.dll instead of running it on the server.

Everytime, I have to add new website into the privacy -> manage websites to make all link work properly.

Opening security center takes 100% of the CPU.

I am a long time CA customer and with the release of this product I have not been disappointed. Works seamlessly with good performance and has a lot of great features–not to mention a guarantee that protects me from viruses or identity theft. It has my two thumbs up.

1 Star This is piece of junk and expensive
I used this shredder for about a year and now it is broke (the inside plastic guide disintegrated). None of the advertised specs are accurate. It will not shred more than 2 psc of paper. It jams often & it is noisy. During this period I cut approximately 1000 pages, and paid for the shredder $60. This results in a cost of 6 cents per page!! This is the worst product, relative to it spec, I ever bought!!

1 Star Buyer beware
I paid top dollar for this shredder at Office Depot. It jammed after the first three sheets of paper. I went back to the store, and I was told I had to add cutting oil while it was working. I stood over the top of this machine pouring oil onto the cutters to get the junk mail shredded for one day. It would not even cut one page of newspaper. I continued to stuff newspaper in it until the top bulged and the room filled with smoke. Now it is in the trash, which is where I should have put the first time it jammed up. I will never buy another Fellowes product.

Have had this model for about 1 year. It struggles to take more than 1 piece of paper and jams constantly. Buying a Fellowes P-67C, reviews rate it much better across a number of sellers.

2 Stars Poor design
This shredder consists of a shredder unit which sits on top of a plastic bin. The shredded paper tends to fall in a heaped pile, meaning that when the shredder is approximately half full, shredded paper touches the rotating cutters, and wind back into the mechanism. If you empty the bin after shredding 20 sheets or so, it seems to work more reliably. This is a fuss.

To empty the shredder, the top is lifted from the bin. It usually deposits pieces of paper on the floor.

The shredder will strain to shred six sheets, and if the sheets happen to fold while feeding, it will jam. One or two sheets will normally shred OK.

The shredder has several levels of safety features - turning it on requires flipping two switches on top, and the bin must be in place underneath - if you lift the shredder while it’s on, it will stop. However, because the shredder jams so frequently, you may find that you will have to pull chunks of paper from between the rotating cutters, which doesn’t seem a safe design.

2 Stars Mediocre product… poor quality.
I had this shredder for a little over a year, with occasional use (some bills, papers with SSN, etc). It was OK, with many safety features. It shredded fine for a while but it started making clicking noises and getting stuck (needed to reverse in order to ’set it loose’. Its supposed to do 6-8 sheets at a time but it had trouble with 3. Eventually it stopped working and after opening it up, I saw that many of the plastic components inside had cracked and fell into the shredding blades. I would not recommend this model!

1 Star It shreds but get the cross-cut
Given the price of this shredder, I’m disappointed that I didn’t get the cross cut version. I shred a lot, including CDs, DVDs, and credit card junk that comes in the mail, but the cross cut version is $10 more and adds more security to the shredded output.

5 Stars Paper Shredder
So far, so good! I purchased this for our small business office and it sees limited use but it’s doing the job well. Replaced another brand that self-destructed in just over a year of mild use!

2 Stars I hate this da#n thing…
Some idiot bought this for my office; the waste bin is a rickety, 2-part ordeal that’s split down the middle for some odd reason. Also, there’s no handgrabs or handles or anywhere to put your fingers and lift the shredder mechanism off (see photo). The shredder mechanism fits flushly against the bin. When I put it down today, I pinched my finger between the bin and the mechanism, and I’ve got a huge blood blister now and it hurt like hell. This thing is rickety and dangerous!

3 Stars A Disappointment
I read the reviewers comments and I usually decide on what they

say. I got the PS-70 on Friday and went with my wife to use our

old Sentinel Shredder and the new one in our office this Saturday.

In the manual it says that “continuous operation beyond 10-12

minuts will trigger 20-minute cool down period.” So, had I read that I would never have bought it. Wish the other reviewers would have mentioned it, but in any event I just did. On the positive side, the PS-70 looks good. Cuts well. Is quiet. I doubt they will take it back. So if you have some significant shredding to do, you can take a 20 minute break for 10-12 minutes of work. Maybe they should put a cooling fan in it or suppy an external

one to blow air through the venting holes. I will check into the

cooling fan side of it and see if I can salvage anything out of my money.

3 Stars Old technology but dependable up to a point
I bought the ps-70 since it was on sale. The new cross-cut shredders are now the in-thing and rightly so. This strip shredder will leave some “strips” still attached so that a determined thief might get enough to steal your SS number. Overall, its OK protection and the cross-cuts have more dependability issues since a more complex cutter system. If I were a banker or spy, I would go with the newer cross cuts; for home use this is OK.

2 Stars Overheat light stuck on
Just received my new S8-89Ci. When I turned it on the Over Heat light came on and has stayed on ever since. The shredder works fine, even though the Over Heat light is on. The Bin Open light works and has the side effect of turning off the Over Heat light until the Bin is closed. The Bin Full light never comes on. Seems like I got a lemon.

5 Stars Shredder
This is our fifth shredder, but this one, somewhat more expensive than our previous units, we really like. It is relatively quiet, given what it is doing, and it is easy to empty. The large integrated waste basket slides out easily. We’ve tried the plastic bags, which work just fine, but tend not to use them because we recycle our paper and cannot dump it in plastic bags. We have found that we can fill the plastic bag and use that to transfer the contents into a paper bag for recycling..It’s kind of an extra step that doesn’t save a lot of effort or time. In terms of performance, we are quite happy with this make and model.

5 Stars Fellowes SB-89Ci Shredder
I am not able to provide a long, in depth, review of this product. I have had it for one month. Even though I have purchased it for home use and have used it so little, I am happy with it’s performance so far. Did I need such an expensive unit? Maybe not, but after reading about it, I am hopeful I will never have to buy another one. I like the casters and the pull out bin. My former unit I had to lift off the head to empty it. Also it is larger then you may need for home use. I can live with that. I bought because of a gut feeling after reading up. Have not tried shredding a credit card or CD as yet, but I am sure it will perform if I give it the test. We’ll find out, over time, if I made a good decision.

5 Stars Quiet and Capable
Besides being able to shred 8-9 pieces of paper at a time quickly, this shredder is extremely quiet. It never even hesitated in shredding a credit card and thick envelopes and inserts are effectively destroyed.

I tried one of the plastic collection bags that comes with it but quickly realized they cut way down on the capacity of the receptacle and they tear when you try to remove them when full because of the angles on the interior of the receptacle. Besides, you don’t really need the bags…just shred right into the pull out bin and dump the trash.

This shredder is a good value…high quality, reasonable price…and you can’t beat the speed of shipping and delivery.

1 Star Disappointing second try
Even the second unit that I bought had the same problem: 1)m the automatic feed setting failed; unless the few pages it can shred are fed in perfectly square it stops shredding.2) Putting it in reverse does not clean up entirely. 3)Removing remaining paper shreds by hand takes in inordinate amount of time and effort. 4) It also means that one have to wait for hours until the unit recovers from the reverse action. 5)The automatic feed never came back.

5 Stars Multi Purpose Shredder
This is one of the better shredders I have found for home/office use. It shreds credit cards, as well and per the suggestion of a friend, I used the shreddings to pack delicate Christmas ornaments. Hence, it truly aids in recycling.

2 Stars does what I need it to…barely.
I am not a heavy-duty shredder. In fact, just a few old bills and some junk mail. However, this shredder does not handle even those small tasks well. I am constantly having to toggle the on/off switch just to get the job done. The paper gets stuck if I try and shred two sheets at a time (8-sheet my eye!). I would’ve sent it back if not for the pain of repacking the whole thing. Pretty disappointing.

Shredder works great.

However, I would not have described the condition “used - like new”. I would have just said used.

Shipping box was crushed and some of the plastic from the (collection) bin broke off. The “on/off/reverse” switch was jarred lose during shipping and does not stay on.

4 Stars Home shredder
The W-11C Shredder is a fine shredder for home usebut not for the office. One thing I learned about these devices is to keep them oiled. I wish that Fellows put in a “sample” size ( 2 ounces) I bought a 12 oz bottle [...], and now I squirt a shot in the blades at every full basket. It seems to run faster than when its dry.

Also, I tend not to over-feed it. Yeah, it handles 8 sheets or those fat envelopes from the credit card sellers, but I go with 2 or 3 sheets at a time. This was a great price for this type of shredder and it arrived in about 1 week. Thank you Amazon for more than books!

4 Stars Messy work area and pinched fingers
While this product does it’s job—shredding paper without janmming—effectively, it does have some downsides. (I admit that I had not previously used a shredder that did not empty directly into a disposal bag.)

1. the head is fairly heavy and has no good hand holds. replacing it on the bin has resulted in pinched fingers and, when misaligned a bit, the head has fallen into the bin.

2. since the head must be laid down somewhere while the bin is emptied, it is impossible not to create a mess of paper bits around the work area.

5 Stars The speed is amazing
I recently bought this product for the online security (encryption) as I was a victim of Identity theft a couple of years ago. I read the claims that my browsing speed would increase but did not pay too much attention as I thought my DSL was fast enough. Now I am addicted to the acceleration!

I also love the fact that my browsing sessions are encrypted when I use public Wi-Fi. I needed a shredder quick,had lots of paper building up…I bought this shredder because of its price,and got what I paid for….it was noisey,and ended up lasting a day. I had bought other Fellowes shredder and they worked out well…this one was cheap for a reason…only good if you barely use a shredder

1 Star Cheap Piece of Junk
You get what you pay for. I thought I could use the cheapest shredder since I wouldn’t be using it heavily, just to shred a few pages a day, and not everyday. Well, after a couple months, it got jammed and then all of sudden it died. I wish I spent a few more bucks for a better shredder which would have been cheaper in the long run.

5 Stars paper be gone
This paper shredder does far better then its advertised to do. I have shredded everything in sight from memos and typed papers to newspapers and magazines. I know I have overused it and abused it putting way more sheets in it and running it for sometimes 5 minutes constant. It just keeps shredding and is just the right size basket so it is easy to empty into a plastic bag for recycling or composting. I love it.
